Walters Workshops, London, W10

Harvey-Design was invited to provide the vision for the refurbishment of this amazing hidden gem in Ladbroke Grove working as part of a team consisting of the owners and managing agent Granby Martin. Behind the original workshop gates, there is a warren of studio spaces for creatives and music studios, often frequented by some well-known faces.

With a proven track record of working sympathetically with Victorian warehouse buildings, Harvey-Design oversaw the specification and process to refurbish the building facade and replacement of windows. Retaining some of the original cast iron windows at ground floor level to ensure the story and character of the building was not lost. Common area WC's facilities were transformed, the ladies and gents each having their own distinct individual character.

The philosophy has been to mirror the experience and unexpected surprise visitors get when they first open the gates and walk into Walters. To enhance this feeling throughout and blur the lines between past works, the original building, and new installations. Design solutions rooted in the buildings history and essence, often created by using beautiful materials, textures and lighting.
